About The Project:

The Tech Entrepreneur Magazine is embarking on an ambitious project to identify, interview, and feature the top 40 most innovative and promising startups in South Africa. This project includes a special edition magazine and a podcast series, aiming to showcase the vibrant tech startup ecosystem in South Africa.

Role Description:

We are seeking passionate Volunteer Associate Editors to join our dynamic team for this project. This is an exciting opportunity for individuals interested in technology, startups, and journalism. As an Associate Editor, you will play a key role in the research, identification, and profiling of top startups, as well as in the preparation and execution of podcast interviews and magazine publication.

Responsibilities:

1. Conduct extensive research to identify potential top startups in South Africa.

2. Assist in developing criteria for the selection process.

3. Reach out to and communicate with selected startups for participation.

4. Help in organizing and scheduling interviews for the podcast series.

5. Contribute to content creation, including writing and editing articles for the magazine.

6. Collaborate with the editorial team for the final layout and design of the magazine.

7. Engage in post-production work for podcast episodes.

8. Support the promotion and distribution of the magazine and podcast series.

Qualifications:

1. Strong interest in technology, startups, and entrepreneurship.

2. Excellent research, writing, and editing skills.

3. Ability to work collaboratively in a remote team environment.

4. Good organizational and communication skills.

5. Previous experience in journalism, media, or related fields is a plus.

6. Enthusiasm for storytelling and content creation.
